Last Chance Prom!

Last weekend we went down to Darby for the "Last Chance Prom." We enjoyed a wine tasting and had a blast dancing. It was a lot of fun getting dressed up and enjoying a drink this time around! Jamey and I went to both my junior and senior proms together so this was our "third" prom :) Grandma and Grandpa Maxwell were so kind to watch both Adalyn and Brenna for the evening!

Here are some fun pictures from the night:

Dana and Justin--Something was funny!

Jamey "reeling me in"

"Dancing" with Jen--I look really dorky though!

Enjoying the rest of the bottle of wine

Both Jamey and I caught the cold Adalyn had and we were not feeling the best during the prom and rest of the weekend. Adalyn finally got better but we are still getting over ours. We can't wait to get healthy again and for it to stop SNOWING here!

Adalyn is now 14 months old and does some new cute things! I will post an update soon--we are planning on taking some photos of her this weekend also.

I made a new header for our blog and changed to an Easter background but I am not sure if it looks too "busy" or not? Any thoughts?

Dodgeball Busters

Jamey played in a dodgeball tournament to benefit the Boy Scouts in Darby this past weekend. Adalyn and I cheered the team on. Other team members were my sister Dana, and Jamey's sister Jen and her husband Travis and some of their friends. They had these awesome t-shirts made by Rebecca on the team and everyone had a "buster" name, including Ghostbuster, Spambuster, Gutbuster, Blockbuster, "Feelabuster," and Dustbuster. They looked great and won the tournament! Adalyn loved running around the gym after the dodgeball games and she is very fast--even I did some running that day :)

Little Adalyn has a bad cold right now and we are hoping she starts feeling better soon. Even though she is having a hard time eating, drinking and sleeping due to her stuffy nose, it is not slowing her down much and she is still playing and running all over the place.

Signs, Words and Cute photos

We have been busy and I am overdue for updating our blog! Adalyn has been learning a lot of new things and it has been a blast to communicate more with her. I had intended to teach her some sign-language words when she was around 7 months old but I found it was kind of difficult to sign using both hands when I was usually doing something with one of my hands so I put it on hold. We started again around her first birthday and she has picked right up on the signs we have worked on! She signs "all done," "more," "food," "milk" and a few others. At lunch today, she signed "more" and pointed at the crackers on the table. It is so neat to see her make the connections to ask for what she wants when she doesn't have the vocabulary yet. She is saying a lot more words also. She has been saying "momma" for a few weeks and it just melts my heart when she says it and runs over to give me a hug! So sweet!

Jamey and I have been working a lot on a new project this past week. We will have more details soon!

Jamey's sister Jen came over with our niece Brenna last week and we took some pictures of the little cousins. Adalyn and Brenna are five months apart and so cute together. They were really fun pictures to take and they made a great birthday gift for Jamey's mom Coral! We took a lot of pictures but here are some of my favorites:

13 months

Wow! Thirteen months old already! Adalyn has been such a little character lately! Here are some pictures of her from the last week:

Little rascal!

Now that she is more coordinated, she really likes to ride on her car or bouncing zebra

And Ellie in the dishwasher
Well, most of Ellie's "spots" came out clean....:)

Big Bear

We got Adalyn a huge stuffed bear when they went on sale after Valentine's Day. When she saw it in the store she was very excited and wanted to give it a big hug. Now, when we ask her where big bear is, she runs over to it and starts jumping up and down. She also loves to climb, cuddle and enjoy a cup of milk with big bear!

She also loves running around the house in her shades

Long Weekend and Finger-Snapping!

We had a fun three-day weekend with Valentine's day and President's day. On Valentine's day, my mom and Russ offered to babysit Adalyn so Jamey and I could go out to dinner. We left when Adalyn was busy showing them things in the other room so she never saw us leave. She gets really upset when she sees me leave, but not seeing our exit was fine! She played with them the whole time until she fell asleep when my mom rocked her right before we got home. She had so much fun! Thanks very much mom and Russ for watching her! We really appreciated a dinner out.

We also spent some time with Dana and went back to the Carousel. Adalyn loves the horses and it only costs a few dollars for all of us to ride. One ride is definitely enough for me!

Riding the ponies!

The weather was nice enough to go for a walk on Monday afternoon too. Last year, the weather on President's Day was about the same and we took Adalyn on her first neighborhood walk.

Last year....
Three weeks old, little sleepy head

Bundled up for her first walk one year ago

She slept through the entire walk then

This year....
Wide awake and sporting some shades

All smiles

Pushing our sweet girl

Adalyn has recently started snapping her fingers. We couldn't figure out how she learned this but then realized we snap to get her attention for photos sometimes and we also snap at the cat to get off the table so she must have picked it up. Jamey and I both think we didn't learn to snap our fingers until we were much older, maybe 10 :) After her meal, I caught her snapping and showing some of the body parts she has learned.
