Trick or Treat

We had a lot of fun celebrating Adalyn's first Halloween. She was a little ladybug and looked so adorable. Jamey and I dressed up as well and we went trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. We just visited a few homes of neighbors we knew and showed off our little bug. It was fun to do, and of course Adalyn isn't eating candy yet....so you know who really got the treats! We spent the rest of the night visiting friends and Adalyn nearly fell asleep in the car on the way between houses. She liked looking at everyone in their costumes and really had fun, even though she was getting a little tired by the end of the evening.
Here are a few pictures from Halloween day and one in costume from my camera. Jamey has more on his camera I will post later when they get transferred.

Here is Adalyn in her mummy bib:

Look at those bottom teeth showing!

Having fun on Halloween

My mom Jill "Beach babe", step-dad Russ "Human target", and sister Dana "Gothic fairy" stopped by before attending Halloween parties to pose with the little ladybug:

And for the tricks:
Adalyn has been busy doing a lot of new things lately. She has been waving for about a week and is now waving quite consistently, especially when Jamey goes to work. She even waves to Bailey! I am working on capturing a good video of her waving because it is so cute. She has been saying new sounds, like "at" when she sees either cat. Just today she started with two new things also! This morning she was in her crib and suddenly sat up on her own for the first time and she has been doing it constantly throughout the house all day. Then, she pulled herself up to stand at the couch in the living room while I was sitting on the floor against it. We certainly have a busy little girl on our hands!

Here is a video of her "kicking" her alphabet ball back to me on Halloween day:

9 months, and another year for me, too

Adalyn is now nine months old! She had her appointment on Thursday and got a flu shot and an anemia test. Her weight is 16 lbs. 8 oz., and her length is 28.5 inches. She is quite long, in the 85th percentile. She has leaned out some, but she is healthy, eats well and is really active. We can't believe how much she has grown in nine months! Apparently at her age, she gets her flu shot in two parts and we will take her back for the second one in a month.

My 27th birthday, and Adalyn is 9 months

We had a very busy weekend! We attended a retirement party for my step-dad Russ on Friday night and Adalyn was the entertainment for everyone! My birthday was Saturday so Jamey, Adalyn and I ate dinner out and then spent Sunday enjoying lunch and dinner with my families. It was a very fun weekend and I received great gifts and ate some delicious dessert, too!

Here are some fun pictures we took of Adalyn a few weeks ago:

Bathtime with rubber ducky

Here is another video of Adalyn in the tub this time. She loves her little ducky and is "coughing" for me, too. This is what happens when I get a new memory card for my camera--I can't stop taking new videos!

Standing in the crib!

Adalyn was having fun this morning by pulling herself up in her crib and standing. She first did this about three weeks ago. She can only pull herself up in here when she is placed in the crib in a sitting position, as she can't get into a sitting position on her own yet. She was sitting in the crib while I was putting some of her laundry away and when she acted like she was going to try to stand, I ran to grab the camera! She does well unless her feet slip through the sides of the crib, then she usually falls down. She gets the cutest little smirk when she does it!

Here is the video I nervously filmed :)

Busy Little Girl

Adalyn has been busy these last few weeks! Here is a summary of what she has been doing lately:
Two of her bottom teeth have emerged simultaneously and another one on the top just broke through today. It is really cute to see her new "toothy smile." A few weeks ago, she was sitting in her crib while I was getting some clothes from her closet and I turned around to see that she had pulled herself up and was standing in her crib! She has been crawling all over the house and is exploring everything. She loves to feed herself little pieces of puffed cereal and she is trying more foods. We traveled to Spokane with Jamey's family to visit and celebrate a baby shower for his aunt and uncle a few weekends ago so Adalyn traveled out of our state for the first time. She did really well riding in the car. Her latest trick is to "copy" us. If we make a coughing, smacking or blowing sound, she makes one too and then grins. We have really been entertained!
She will have her 9-month appointment on Thursday so I will update more after that.

Here are some adorable pictures we took of her at 8 months old:

Looking back...

Adalyn is already 8 months old! I love looking back at all of the photos we have taken of her so far. I am working on organizing her photos into albums to show her early months. She has changed so much and it has been so fun to watch her grow and develop her personality. Here are some of my favorite photos of her shortly after birth and during her first month of life.

I haven't been so good at this...

...blogging thing. I promise to post more frequently. The point was to be up-to-date but now we have been so busy and Adalyn has been doing so many new things that I will have to think back to recall some of them.

The big thing around here lately is that we have a little crawler on our hands! Adalyn had been creeping, rolling and scooting around and suddenly started doing the army-crawl all over the living room. She is getting pretty fast when she has the motivation to get to a toy. Her favorite place to crawl to is the dog's kennel, as it must be neat if her friend Bailey spends so much time snoozing in there! So now we are checking and double-checking things to make sure our baby-proofing is complete in the rooms she has access to. I guess I should have known she would start becoming more mobile but it seems to have taken me by surprise as I am in denial about her growing up so fast. It is pretty amazing to see my little baby getting around on her own. I hope walking is still several months away as I am not ready for that at all!

We have been pretty busy this last month. Adalyn tried out a big pool for the first time in the beginning of September and she loved it! We traveled to Helena to attend a baseball game and barbecue with Jamey's company and stayed overnight in a motel. Adalyn was kicking her legs like a little frog and loved the water.

Here's a video of Adalyn kicking and splashing with her daddy
